Ability Center, a mobility company renowned for its dedication to supporting the local community, has today announced a food drive to benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank, which will be ongoing through December 2012.
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) November 15, 2012
Ability Center of Phoenix, one of the Southwest’s most respected providers of mobility equipment and wheelchair vans, has today announced a food drive to benefit the local Phoenix community, as well as greater Arizona.
The food drive will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank and began on November 1st. It will run through the 20th of December, and customers can donate any nonperishable food items at the Phoenix Ability Center location (23606 N. 19th Ave., Suite 16, Phoenix, AZ 85085) for distribution to St. Mary’s. Items that can be donated at the dealership include canned vegetables, canned fruit, pasta, beans, peanut butter and other nonperishable items. The company does request that no glass containers be donated due to the danger of breakage and possible injury.
St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance has three locations within the city of Phoenix, and was actually the world’s first food bank. St. Mary’s serves almost all of Arizona, and is a member of Feeding America. In 2011, the food bank was able to distribute almost 64 million pounds of food to families and children in need throughout the state, and the nonprofit has held a four-star rating (the highest possible score) with Charity Navigator for more than a decade.
To reward customers coming out to help feed hungry families in the community, Ability Center will be offering a $10 service discount per donation/family. The discount is valid until June of 2013, so customers are able to take advantage of important savings even if they do not require service immediately.
Ability Center invites everyone to come out and help support families in need this holiday season by donating food to feed the hungry.
