3 days of events helping Women with Journey through Cancer
CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Andy Cohen, the ultimate celebrity insider and host of BRAVO's late-night, interactive talk show featuring guests from the world of entertainment, politics and pop culture, will perform in Charlotte for the first time Saturday, March 16, at the McGlohon Theater at 7 p.m. Cohen's performance is part of Shine for Women, a unique series of programs providing entertainment, educational resources, celebration and emotional support for cancer patients, their family and loved ones.

The Shine for Women events are slated for Thursday, March 14, Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, all in Uptown Charlotte.

National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship Town Hall:
Thursday, March 14, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square (345 N. College St.)
The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) will bring together cancer experts from Charlotte's leading hospitals to discuss, with the community, key issues surrounding a cancer diagnosis. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and voice their opinions as it relates to their own, or a loved one's, cancer journey. The Town Hall is free of charge and open to the public.
Women and Cancer Retreat:
Sunday, March 17, 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Foundation For The Carolinas (220 N. Tryon St.)
The Women and Cancer Retreat consists of a multiple workshops and seminars designed to assist women cancer survivors and their family and friends on their journey through cancer. The intimate sessions will focus on ways to improve survivors' health and quality of life, connecting them to resources and to each other. Sessions will be led by experts from Carolinas HealthCare System's Levine Cancer Institute and Presbyterian Cancer Center. Topics include Healthy Eating & Exercise, Yoga, Expression Through Art, Intimacy Through Your Cancer Journey, Natural Beauty and Becoming an Empowered Patient. The retreat is free of charge and open to the public, but space is limited.
