A Kickstarter project launched last week offers people across the globe interested in children's literature a chance to get in on the ground floor of publishing 'Mommy Loves Baby', a new book/lullaby by parental author Christine Curtis.
WATERLOO, Iowa, Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mommy Loves Baby is a new book by Christine Curtis, a family pen name being used by Troy Muilenburg, an Iowa parent eager to share his family's favorite bedtime story with the world. Mr. Muilenburg has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund printing his fully illustrated children's book. Upon completing the targeted fundraising goal printing of the cardboard book will be done in the U.S.A.
"Parents are always looking for great stories that help them connect to their children. Mommy Loves Baby is a simple story about a parent's love for their children, and we are excited to use Kickstarter to help us spread this beautiful book's reach beyond our own family," said Troy Muilenburg, who has used the story/lullaby to put his own children to bed for years.
Kickstarter is a website that allows authors and other creative individuals a chance to raise funds for their project. In turn for participating, funders are offered gifts to thank them for their contributions. Among the gifts being offered by Christine Curtis are signed first edition cardboard book print versions of the Mommy Loves Baby book, an eBook version, t-shirts and baby onesies adorned with the book's illustrations, and prints of the original artwork. Best of all, the release comes with a recorded version of the song to learn and sing with your little ones.
Mommy Loves Baby is the first book in a planned series by Christine Curtis, whose penname is derived from the middle names of his own two children. A previous sing-song oriented cardboard book under the penname, entitled "Aloha! We Are From Hawaii", was published by Park Avenue Girl.
The book's illustrator is Andrea Dickkut, an Iowa based artist who emphasizes the beauty of nature in her work. Her collaboration with the Muilenburgs combines a very human story of parental love with colorful depictions of animals embracing their young.
