OCALA, Fla., Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Veteran tourism development specialist Bryan Fogelman has been named CEO of central Florida's Silver Springs State Park, announced Silver Springs Management partners Bobby Genovese and Joel Wiessner.
Fogelman was named to the position to help spearhead redevelopment efforts to restore the park's notoriety as one of Florida's premier ecotourism attractions. Home of the original glass bottom boat tours, Silver Springs is Florida's oldest tourist attraction dating back to 1878, during which time visitors flocked to the clear spring waters to view native fish and fauna. Redevelopment efforts include the kayak and canoe concessions to allow visitors greater access and enjoyment of the waters, among other recreation amenities.
"We are excited to have Bryan in charge of steering the park's direction and ensuring preservation of this amazing natural treasure," says Genovese. "His expertise in this arena is unparalleled, having created one of the largest eco friendly destination resorts in North America among other accomplishments. Bryan will ensure our goal of developing this world-class natural resource that needs and deserves to be protected and shared with nature-loving travelers."
As part of park's re-launch, country-music icon Willie Nelson will kick off his 2014 U.S. tour by performing to thousands of fans at the park's Twin Oaks Amphitheatre on Saturday, February 1, 2014.
"World class talent like Willie Nelson is the kind of live entertainment that we envisioned for this landmark," says Fogelman. "Hosting Willie Nelson is just the first of a star studded lineup to come as we continue restoring this phenomenal central Florida resource," says concert sponsor BG Capital Group Chairman Bobby Genovese who joins Fogelman in the redevelopment effort. Based in Barbados, BG Capital Group has offices in Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, the Bahamas, Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver.
Concert doors open at 6pm. Sasha Dobson will open at 6:45 and Willie Nelson & Band will hit the concert stage at 8pm.
