NEW YORK, May 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior executives in television, technology, finance and advertising will gather on Wednesday, June 11 at the Business of Multiplatform TV Summit to attend keynote interviews and panel discussions featuring leaders in multichannel programming, investment and sponsorship. Showtime Networks' Chairman and CEO Matt Blank will set the tone for the day-long conference as the Opening Keynote. The Summit will be presented by three of the industry's premier publications, Broadcasting & Cable, Multichannel News and TV Technology, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT at the Roosevelt Hotel at 45 East 45th Street and Madison Avenue in New York City.
The theme of this year's Summit is "Where do we go from here: new directions for the dynamic multiplatform TV business." The conference will focus on the business aspects of the television industry and its keynote interviews and panel discussions will address areas of current and potential revenue and profitability.
"The business of television has changed considerably," said Louis Hillelson, Vice President & Group Publisher of Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News. "It's not only linear or cable or broadcast or OTT alone; the business comprises all of these. That's why the Summit is addressing all the business aspects of this vibrant and transitioning industry."
The opening keynote interview at 10 a.m. EDT is with Matt Blank, Chairman and CEO of Showtime Networks, who will share his perspective of the current state of the television business-with a particular focus on the transition of the industry from a linear-only multichannel experience to a model that offers increased options for multiplatform access for viewers.
The other featured keynote interviews will focus on specific areas of the business. For example, Will Funk, SVP, Sponsorship Integration and Business Development at Turner Sports Ad Sales, will address the new sports sponsorship opportunities available to advertisers in a multiplatform environment. He will share case studies like the multiplatform telecast of the 2014 NCAA March Madness and others. Likewise, Jackie Kulesza, SVP/Group Director, Video from Starcom USA, will share the agency's "TV is everywhere" strategy, which affords advertisers greater impact across platforms. Finally, Jessica Reif Cohen, Senior Media and Entertainment Analyst for Bank of America/ Merrill Lynch, will share her thoughts about the financial health of select segments of the business during a lunchtime interview.
